Overview
This 5-day, 4-night route covers Chengdu, Huanglong, Chuanzhusi, Jiuzhaigou and the Minjiang Headwaters. Trains from Chengdu connect Huanglong, Jiuzhaigou and the Minjiang Headwaters Wetland, with a full self-guided day in Jiuzhaigou and transfers and free time in Chengdu at either end. It suits travellers drawn to lakes, valleys and colourful pools who can handle walking at altitude, pace themselves and work around park bus schedules.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1Arrive in Chengdu | Pickup and Free Time
Travel independently to Chengdu. A one-way transfer from Shuangliu Airport or an agreed railway station takes you to the hotel for check-in and free time. Ask about supplements for Tianfu or Mianyang airports. Staff will confirm the meeting point in advance. No meals, guide service or vehicle use beyond the pickup are included today.
Day 2Train from Chengdu toward Jiuzhaigou | Huanglong and Tibetan Hotpot
After breakfast or collecting a packed breakfast, check out with all your luggage. Transfer to Chengdu railway station and take the included second-class train to Songpan, Huanglongjiuzhai or Huangshengguan, according to the tickets issued. Change to a tour vehicle for Huanglong and explore independently for about four hours. Lunch is at your own expense. The cable car, shuttle, audio guide and scenic-area insurance cost extra; winter maintenance or suspension may require walking. Enjoy complimentary Tibetan family interaction and a local hotpot dinner, possibly rescheduled to another day. Stay in Chuanzhusi Town or near the Jiuzhaigou entrance. Goods are sold at roadside service stops and the Tibetan household; purchases are optional.

Day 3A Full Day in Jiuzhaigou at Your Own Pace | Complimentary Photo Session
After breakfast, travel to Jiuzhaigou for about seven hours of independent sightseeing, following the open areas and agreed meeting time. The group guide does not enter the park with you. Admission is included; the sightseeing bus and insurance cost extra. Lunch is at your own expense. A complimentary photo session includes three retouched digital images, the original images and one Hanfu or Tibetan outfit experience, without makeup or styling; confirm the shooting time in advance. Return to the hotel for its complimentary set dinner. A Tibetan and Qiang cultural evening is an optional paid upgrade.

Day 4Minjiang Headwaters Wetland | Train Back to Chengdu
After breakfast, drive to Minjiang Headwaters Wetland Park for a complimentary visit with about 30 minutes of free time. Lunch is at a restaurant that also sells local products; buying is entirely optional. Drive to Songpan, Huanglongjiuzhai or Huangshengguan station for the included second-class train back to Chengdu, followed by a hotel transfer. The station, train and times are confirmed after ticketing. Dinner is at your own expense. No onward travel from Chengdu is arranged today; you stay overnight in Chengdu.

Day 5Free Time in Chengdu | Departure Transfer
After breakfast, enjoy free time before your one-way transfer from the hotel to Shuangliu Airport or the agreed railway station, timed to your confirmed departure. Transfers usually leave 3–4 hours beforehand and cannot be postponed at short notice. Ask about supplements for Tianfu or Mianyang airports. A packed breakfast is available for early departures. Check out before noon. Lunch, dinner and transport during free time are at your own expense.

- For adults: return second-class trains between Chengdu and Songpan, Huanglongjiuzhai or Huangshengguan, hotel–station transfers in Chengdu and tour transport around Jiuzhaigou. Groups of fewer than 10 travel by passenger van.
- One arrival and one departure transfer between the hotel and Chengdu Shuangliu Airport or the agreed railway station. Ask about supplements for Tianfu or Mianyang airports.
- Four nights: two in Chengdu, one in Chuanzhusi Town or near Jiuzhaigou, and one near the Jiuzhaigou entrance. Comfort-category hotels or guesthouses are standard; upgrades can be booked.
- Adults: four breakfasts and three main meals, comprising dinner on Days 2 and 3 and lunch on Day 4. Other main meals are at your own expense.
- One main admission each to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong, plus complimentary Tibetan family interaction, photo session and Minjiang Headwaters visit.
- Mandarin-speaking guide coordinates the group itinerary; no guide on arrival/departure transfers. Scenic areas are mainly explored independently. Confirm guide accompaniment on trains when booking.

- Huanglong cable car, sightseeing shuttle, location-based audio guide and park insurance, plus Jiuzhaigou sightseeing bus and park insurance, cost extra.
- Tibetan and Qiang cultural evening is an optional paid upgrade; makeup and styling, single-room supplement, excluded meals and personal expenses also cost extra.
Cost and booking conditions
Confirm before booking whether return flights or high-speed trains between your home city and Chengdu are included. The 2+1-seat touring vehicle is not used for transfers; groups of fewer than 10 travel by passenger van.
