See China’s most spectacular landscapes

China’s scenery seems endless: Zhangjiajie’s sandstone pillars, Guilin’s karst rivers, Jiuzhaigou’s colored lakes… We plan mountain-and-water routes by landscape type and season.

Nature & landscapes

See China’s most spectacular landscapes

For many travelers, the reason to visit China is not the cities but scenery they have only seen in photos. Yet these places are often harder to reach, the parks are huge, and when you go and which route you take make a big difference.

Our landscape trips arrange transport, tickets and the routes inside each park: where to ride a cable car, where to walk, when the light is best. Your guide knows it all, so you can simply look.

What you may wonder

Three common questions about scenic trips

  1. 01

The parks are huge — where do we go?

We plan by your energy and interests and tell you what is unmissable and what to skip.

  2. 02

What if the weather is bad?

Mountain weather changes fast; guides reorder the day to keep the highlights.

  3. 03

    Will it be crowded?

We avoid holiday peaks where we can and visit popular spots at quieter times.

A typical day

A day of peaks and rivers

  1. An early start

Morning light and fewer people — the best time for mountains.

  2. Up by cable car

Ride a cable car or lift to the viewpoints and save your legs.

  3. Lunch in the park

A simple meal and a rest inside the scenic area.

  4. Walking the viewpoints

The classic lookouts on foot, with your guide on the geology.

  5. Down to the hotel

Stay near the park and continue tomorrow.

Questions

Nature & landscapes: frequently asked questions

Do I need to be very fit?

Not necessarily. Main parks have cable cars, lifts and shuttles, and we plan around your fitness.

When is the best time to go?

It varies a lot by park. We are verifying the best season for each sight and will advise by your dates.

Are tickets and park transport included?

See each tour’s “What’s included”; we confirm every item before you book.

Can we still go in the rain?

Mist and rain have their own beauty, but parks may close in extreme weather; we adjust as needed.

Can we skip the cities?

Yes, we can plan a mainly scenic route with cities only as transport hubs.
