Meet in Hangzhou for an evening in Zhouzhuang, then explore Suzhou's Hanshan Temple, Humble Administrator's Garden, museum and Pingjiang Road before Jinji Lake and Eslite Bookstore. It suits lovers of gardens, historic lanes and modern city life; Day 2 involves a lot of walking, and venue reservations are required.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1Meet at Hangzhou East Station / Zhouzhuang by night
Make your own way to Hangzhou from elsewhere in China or abroad. Meet at Hangzhou East Station at 14:30 and travel to Zhouzhuang to join the group. Explore the old town and evening scenery, with about one hour led by the guide followed by independent browsing. Dinner is at your own expense; stay in the Suzhou area. Entry requires an electric-shuttle or ferry transfer at additional cost. The Only Zhouzhuang show costs extra.

Day 2Hanshan Temple, Fengqiao, Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou Museum and Pingjiang Road
After breakfast, visit Hanshan Temple, Fengqiao and the Humble Administrator's Garden, have lunch, then visit Suzhou Museum and Pingjiang Road. If the garden is fully booked, you visit Lion Grove Garden instead; if Suzhou Museum is fully booked, the Suzhou Garden Museum. When the museum is closed on Mondays, it is skipped and you get more time in the gardens and on Pingjiang Road. The Gusu boat cruise is optional and paid separately. Dinner is at your own expense.

Day 3Jinji Lake and Eslite Bookstore / Suzhou departure transfer
After breakfast, visit Jinji Lake, Ligong Causeway and Eslite Bookstore, with a distant view of the Gate of the Orient. Group transfers reach Suzhou Station at about 12:30 and Suzhou North Station at about 13:00, so book trains after 13:30 and 14:00 respectively, or make your own way.

- Local Chinese-speaking guide; transfers and free time do not include guide service.
- Main admission to the sights explicitly included each day. Reservation failures, closures and other conditional changes are described in the corresponding daily plan.
